Joseph Edwin Mero proudly served in the United States Army with the 101st Airborne Division during World War II.

During his service, he earned the Purple Heart and was recognized as a sharpshooter. Mr. Mero demonstrated courage and dedication in the face of extraordinary circumstances.

He was killed in action on October 9, 1944, making the ultimate sacrifice in service to his country.
